The Peddie School is an independent, coeducational, college-preparatory school for boarding and day students located in Hightstown, New Jersey. Peddie is committed to the intellectual, social and moral growth of each of its students. The total student enrollment for grades 9 through post-graduate is 530 students representing 28 countries and 21 states; 41% are students of color and 18% hold citizenship outside of the United States. Peddie welcomes individuals with diverse talents and backgrounds whose excitement, curiosity and character create an educational community where passion for learning grows. With enthusiasm, humor and patience, Peddie challenges its students to reach beyond their expectations and to define success by the progress they make. In this boarding school environment, students are prepared for the rigors and rewards of college and are inspired to strive for the highest quality of citizenship.
Unique Characteristics
Peddie’s Signature Experience program connects students’ academic coursework with hands-on learning outside the classroom. More than 70% of seniors participate in experiential learning.
In 1993 Walter Annenberg ’27 awarded Peddie the largest financial gift ever given to an independent boarding school, in large part to endow substantial financial aid.
