Millfield is a leading co-educational boarding and day school, for ages 13-18, located in 240 acres of Somerset countryside. The school offers a diverse range of subjects, sports, creative arts and activities, supported by outstanding facilities including an Olympic sized pool, equestrian centre, indoor golf and cricket centres, 350-seat concert hall, a theatre, art gallery and science centre. With small class sizes of around 8-16, excellent teachers and expert sports coaches, every student is individually supported to discover their brilliance across all aspects of school life. Full boarders enjoy a weekend programme filled with exciting activities and trips. Boarding houses are the place where most students make long-lasting friendships and receive the support and guidance of a team of dedicated staff to guide them through their time at school. All houses have a resident Housemaster or Housemistress (HsM), an Assistant HsM who also live onsite, and matrons and non-resident tutors who provide boarders with a warm and supportive atmosphere. Boarders also have access to a well-staffed Medical Centre, counselling service and the Spiritual Director.
Millfield’s alumni include footballer Romeo Beckham, Olympic gold medallist swimmer James Guy, England Rugby player Chris Robshaw and Rio 2016 Olympic rower Helen Glover.

Thirty sports are available to all students at recreational level through to competing on the national and international stage. Over 200 sports staff, including 14 full-time Heads of Sport, are experts in their field with 90% holding the highest qualification in their sport. This, supported by outstanding facilities, including an Olympic-sized swimming pool, indoor golf and cricket centres and an equestrian centre, sets the school apart.

There is a clear correlation between good academic outcomes in the classroom being reflected on the sports field, and vice versa.
Olivia, one of last year’s top achievers, achieved A*A*A* in maths, economics and geography, and A in further maths. She played netball and was also captain of riding, representing the school both locally and nationally.
Current student and international boarder Tilly is working towards A levels in biology, chemistry and maths whilst training and maths whilst training to swim in the 2028 Olympics, having already competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics for Grenada.
