It implements an innovative, all-through approach that seamlessly integrates STEAM subjects with the Arts and the Green Curriculum. Central to this is the unique Futures Programme (ages 9–18), which places climate education and systems thinking at the heart of learning, empowering pupils to become informed agents of change. This curriculum equips pupils with transformative competencies like analytical thinking and collaboration. Furthermore, the King’s Diploma (ages 11–13) develops intellectual curiosity through Enquiry Days linked to the UN Sustainability Goals, while our Sixth Form Electives Programme offers academic breadth in subjects from Beginners’ Russian to British Sign Language. Education extends far beyond the classroom through a diverse co-curricular programme designed to instil the five key traits of a King's pupil. Highlights include Outdoor Learning in our woodland, fostering survival skills and respect for nature. Leadership and resilience are nurtured through the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) and the Duke of Edinburgh’s (DofE) Award, offering activities like flying and sailing. Our Performing Arts are renowned, supporting West End-standard productions, a thriving music department and an exceptional array of clubs. Every interest is catered for, from Debating and Coding to Bell Ringing in Rochester Cathedral and Rowing on the River Medway.

The School features a mix of traditional architecture and newly developed facilities designed to inspire and challenge. At the heart of this modernity is our newly refurbished STEM Centre, which incorporates state-of-the-art laboratories and cutting-edge technology spaces, specifically tailored to elevate science, technology and engineering. For our Sixth Form students, we offer a dedicated Sixth Form Centre, complete with quiet study spaces, a fully equipped IT suite and access to a private walled garden for recreation and relaxation. Pupils benefit from bright, modern equipped classrooms, specialist spaces for art, design and technology, dedicated common rooms for social time and access to libraries and learning spaces that support research and independent learning across all subjects. We have an array of specialist arts facilities designed to inspire excellence. Pupils have access to multiple, professional-standard performance spaces, perfectly suited for staging everything from major theatrical productions and concerts to smaller, intimate showcases. For musicians, we provide fully equipped music rooms and individual sound-proof pods, allowing for dedicated rehearsal and practice time, whether working on a solo piece or preparing for an ensemble. Many buildings are set in our beautiful grounds including our "jewel in the crown" cricket pitch - the Paddock - used for sports year-round. Adjacent facilities include an indoor swimming pool (with newly refurbished changing areas), a climbing wall and a shooting range. A short walk takes pupils to the Alps - our expansive sports grounds and woodland areas vital for outdoor learning and cross-country running. Our fleet of minibuses transports pupils to the King's School Rochester Sports Centre, featuring a health and fitness suite and indoor/outdoor courts for racquet sports and team games. Further along the River Medway is our dedicated Boat House, making rowing accessible to pupils from age 11 under the guidance of a former international rower.
