What Makes Us Unique
Coordinate Model in the Upper School:
While Annie Wright offers a coeducational Upper School experience, boys and girls learn in separate classroom environments designed to support the unique ways students grow and engage academically. Originally founded as an all-girls school, Annie Wright expanded in 2017 with the addition of the Upper School for Boys, creating a coordinate model that combines the strengths of single-gender education with the benefits of a connected school community. This approach fosters focused, discussion-driven classrooms and allows for small class sizes encouraging meaningful collaboration, individualized attention, and strong relationships between students and faculty. The result is a learning environment where every student is known, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential.
(s)Elective Programs:
In addition to its rigorous academic curriculum, Annie Wright offers innovative (s)Elective programs that give students the opportunity to pursue topics they are genuinely passionate about in a setting that blends the creativity of a club with the depth and structure of a course - without the pressure of grades. Designed to encourage exploration, collaboration, and hands-on learning, (s)Electives still ask students to engage with curiosity, commitment, and purpose. Many programs also include opportunities for domestic or international travel connected to the subject area, allowing students to extend their learning beyond the classroom through immersive real-world experiences. Current offerings include Podcasting, Sports Medicine, Rocketry, Fashion, Model UN, Student Government, Culinary Arts, and more, providing students with meaningful ways to discover new interests, develop practical skills, and deepen existing passions.
