Concord Academy is an independent, coeducational boarding and day school known for world-class faculty, passionate and collaborative students, and graduates who make their mark on the world. Grades nine through twelve are offered, with a total enrollment of 416 students. Students come from public and private schools in sixteen states and thirteen countries and territories. Innovative teaching and learning drives our community. The composition of the student body currently includes thirty-nine percent U.S. students of color and twelve percent international students. Financial aid is awarded to twenty-six percent of the total enrollment, while the average aid award covers seventy-seven percent of the tuition. The campus, occupying thirty-nine acres, is set in Concord, Massachusetts, a small town of historic and literary significance, eighteen miles west of Boston.
Unique Characteristics
1. Students have access to a wide-as-you-can-dream curriculum with over +220 academic courses. A rigorous approach to the sciences, arts, and humanities affords opportunities for intellectual growth, experimentation, and hands-on learning.
2. Located in historic Concord with a short walk to the commuter rail for quick access to the city of Boston.
3. Academic advising is one-on-one, with every student meeting weekly with an advisor-a faculty member who is equal parts mentor and advocate.
4. Semester-based academic courses allow students significant choice and flexibility to chart their own learning.
5. The Centennial Arts Center will open in the spring of 2025. The CAC is designed as a space for connecting learning and creative collaboration. A 125-seat music hall will overlook the Sudbury river, along with a 175-seat highly flexible theater, two-story shop and building space, and a digital production lab for language learning, podcasting, filmmaking, and audio engineering. A pollinator meadow behind the CAC will be a learning lab site for our biology, environmental, and earth sciences.
