What Makes Us Unique
The Q-Term is a short, intensive course that provides Storm King faculty and students a chance to explore more deeply subject matter for which they have a particular passion and curiosity. It is a mutual quest for knowledge, outside of the regular weekly schedule and usually, outside of the classroom. Examples: rocketry, animation, forensics, improv theater, leadership, escape room, project gratitude, fashion, Appalachian Trail, robotics, songwriting, investment strategies, mural painting, and more.
The SKS education is highly experiential. Our teachers often utilize our surrounding resources of New York City, The Storm King Arts Center, or the 4,000 acre Black Rock Forest across the street and more. Our diverse college preparatory curriculum (including 23 APs - at least 1 in every core subject area) stimulates our students and immerses them in a highly engaging environment.
