About St. Paul's School

Live School and Love It. Founded in 1856 and today one of the only all-boarding high schools in the United States, St. Paul's School an independent, college-preparatory school set on 2,000 acres and home to 535 students from 34 countries and 37 U.S. states. Episcopal roots inform our mission to educate students to build purposeful lives in service to the greater good and our emphasis on excellence in character and scholarship. Academics include an interdisciplinary humanities program; four modern and two ancient languages (including a Classical Honors Program); math, science, and an Applied Science and Engineering Program; and fine and performing arts that include music, theater, a pre-professional Ballet Company and one of the only high school hot shops for glass blowing in the United States.

What Makes Us Unique

Humanities, an interdisciplinary curriculum that brings together English, history, religion and philosophy, provides a four-year experience rich in student-centered learning and interactive discussion in classes that are taught Harkness style. Humanities is a space for personal and academic exploration, fostering an understanding of self, community, the natural world and the divine. The Living in Community program, or LINC, is designed to help provide students with the tools to grow as knowledgable, responsible, caring, and contributing members of society. Six dedicated instructors teach LINC classes for Third and Fourth Form students that delve into topics such as cultural competency, diversity and inclusivity, personal identity, sexuality, drugs and alcohol, gender, and wellness. Fifth and Sixth Form students participate in yearlong LINC seminars and twice a year design and lead LINC Day programming for the full School community.
