St. Andrew’s School is an all-residential, co-educational, Episcopal boarding school located on 2200 acres in Middletown, Delaware. Founded in 1929 with an unprecedented commitment to financial aid, St. Andrew’s has been a school affordable to all students who are qualified for admission, regardless of their financial means. Our 320 students and 80 faculty live together in a community characterized by authentic and exceptional academic engagement, dynamic co-curricular programs, and a distinctive school culture of kindness. We work to awaken our students to the responsibilities we share for our world and to foster the habits of mind and work that will enable a lifetime of fulfillment and success.
Unique Characteristics
Phone-free culture: Students are asked to leave their phones in their dorm rooms at all times, unless they are going off campus. The phone policy helps us to develop and protect our school culture by prioritizing face-to-face conversation and relationship-building.
Drug & alcohol-free culture: St. Andrew’s embraces a substance-free culture; students are responsible for keeping this culture alive. St. Andrew’s believes that alcohol & drug use threatens the fundamental process of adolescent development, and our foundation of mutual trust, respect, and care between students, faculty, and staff.
