South Kent School

One full time counselor on campus. We have also partnered with Andrew Tepper and Boda Therapy as well as Adventure Recovery to offer group and individual therapy and therapeutic retreats. Locally, we have a neuro psychologist who offers therapy and assessments to our students. South Kent School supports each student and is aware of the mental health challenges facing adolescent boys in today's day and age. Our holistic support systems we have in place provides a nurturing environment and flexible accommodations to meet the needs of each student that allows them to develop at their own pace academically and socially in a small boarding community.

Comprehensive / Bridge Program

Other: South Kent School is pleased to have an academic support space on campus named the Student Success Center. In this space, we offer tiered levels of academic support to meet the needs of each student. 1). For students that have documented learning differences and require one on one support (e.g., Dyslexia, Executive Function challenges, ADHD) we have 1 on 1 sessions built into their academic day through our ASAP program. Students meet daily with our full time Academic Support Specialist through this program. Our learning specialist works with each of these students teachers to ensure all accommodations are being met in the classroom. 2). Additionally, we offer drop in support blocks as needed if students need help on a specific assignment or have questions that come up throughout their academic day. 3). We also offer subject specific tutoring that can be built into a students day that can focus on writing, science, math, or language support.
