Pickering College, founded 1842, is one of Canada’s oldest independent schools and the only co-educational independent boarding school in York Region, just north of Toronto. We are conveniently located just 45km from Canada’s largest city yet are situated in a small town that is safe, walkable and welcoming.
Pickering is a small community of approximately 550 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12. Boarding begins at Grade 7 and approximately one-third of our Senior School is made up of Boarders from over 25 countries around the world. As an academically-rigorous university preparatory school, we have high expectations for our students, but also provide a high level of care and support including dedicated professional boarding staff, faculty advisors, guidance counsellors, nurses, learning strategists and a counsellor focused on mental health and well-being.
As Canada’s only Quaker-founded school, we stay true to Quaker teachings of Simplicity, Peace, Integrity, Community, Equality and Stewardship and a commitment to instilling the ability and responsibility to make the world great, better and more beautiful.
