Founded in 1814, Emma Willard School is one of the oldest all-girls schools in the country. Madame Emma Hart Willard founded her school on the basis of providing girls with a first-class education that challenged and inspired, and she did this at a time when school for girls did not yet exist. More than 200 years later, we proudly continue to carry on her vision.
Emma Willard School strives to educate a generation of learners ready and able to address and lead in the most pressing issues of their time. We are constantly engaged in shaping a curriculum that balances breadth, depth, and a multidisciplinary understanding of learning.
The campus is located in Troy, NY, just twenty minutes from the state capital of Albany, three hours from New York City and Boston, and a short drive from the beautiful Adirondack Park.
