Eaglebrook is a school for boys in the sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth grades. In a warm, caring, structured atmosphere boys learn more than they ever thought possible, discover inner resources, develop self-confidence, and have fun along the way. In addition, Eaglebrook helps each boy to come into full and confident possession of his innate talents, to improve the skills needed for the challenges of secondary school, and to establish values that will allow him to be a person who respects individual differences and acts with thoughtfulness and humanity. Eaglebrook was founded in 1922 and is located in Deerfield, Massachusetts on the western slopes of Mt. Pocumtuck, situated 100 miles west of Boston and 175 miles north of New York City.
Boys benefit from an average class size of 10, a wide range of electives—from stone carving to podcasting—and three seasons of athletics. Beyond the classroom, our campus features exceptional facilities, including a private ski hill with its own chairlift, a fishing pond, swimming pool, hockey rink, and many other spaces where boys can learn, play, and grow. At Eaglebrook, students have the opportunity to find their passion and thrive in our close-knit and supportive community. Each boy embarks on his education with an advisor by his side, whom he interacts with every day.
What Makes Us Unique
Eaglebrook’s ninth grade students take on leadership roles in all aspects of school life and engage in their classes and realize that academic success will help them gain admittance into secondary school. Eaglebrook's Outdoor Program uses their spectacular 850 acres as an outside classroom, where boys learn to fish, start a campfire, pitch a tent, and identify the wildlife around them—all the while gaining valuable life lessons as they cast a fly or single out Orion’s Belt in the night sky.
