Applewild is a coeducational day and junior boarding school serving students from infants (3 months) through Grade 9. Located on a 42-acre campus in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, Applewild combines academic excellence, character development, and a nurturing community to create an educational experience that is both challenging and joyful.

Through a student-centered approach, Applewild helps children discover their strengths, develop independence, and build the skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world. As a metacognitive school, Applewild teaches students how to understand and take ownership of their learning. Guided by the values of respect, fairness, responsibility, compassion, cooperation, honesty, and civic-mindedness, students develop the confidence to embrace challenges and the character to make a positive impact on their communities.

What Makes Us Unique
Applewild School prepares students for success in secondary school through innovative, developmentally appropriate programming. In grades 8 and 9, students learn together in a thematic, interdisciplinary program designed to strengthen critical thinking, collaboration, and independence while providing a powerful bridge to the secondary school experience.
Applewild is also redefining support for students with language-based learning differences through its Foundations Program, serving students in grades 2–9. Foundations provides specialized instruction and individualized support that helps students build confidence, develop effective learning strategies, and achieve academic success.
To further support the growth and well-being of every student, Applewild is constructing a new 50,000-square-foot Athletic and Wellness Center. This state-of-the-art facility reflects the school's commitment to excellence in academics, arts, and athletics. All students, from preschool through ninth grade, participate in daily physical activity as part of a balanced educational experience that promotes lifelong health and wellness. The Athletic and Wellness Center is scheduled to open in Fall 2026.
